After nearly five decades as a McCormick Ranch landmark, The Scottsdale Resort & Spa has reintroduced itself in style.

Following a $40 million renovation, one of the largest in the Phoenix metro area this year, the resort has completed a full transformation of its guest rooms, public spaces, dining experiences, and wellness facilities. Now part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, the refreshed property aims to welcome both Valley locals and international travelers looking for luxury with a Southwest soul.

“From upgraded dining options to recreational activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” said Alan Klein, regional director of operations for Driftwood Hospitality Management. “The approach is not just about the impressive physical transformation but also creating a space where everyone feels at home and can make memories that last a lifetime.”

The redesign touches nearly every corner of the property—from the 278 guest rooms to Luna Spa, the fitness center, and several newly imagined restaurants and lounges. With room rates starting at $232, the guest rooms blend old-world charm with modern comfort, showcasing leather accents, hand-carved wood, and Southwestern textiles.

One of the biggest updates is the debut of The Stillman Villas, a new enclave of 12 two-story luxury villas. These private accommodations, starting at $1,300 per night, offer exclusive perks like a private pool, high-end finishes, and sweeping golf course views—perfect for larger groups or special celebrations.

On the culinary side, La Fogata Kitchen and Bar serves as the resort’s signature restaurant, spotlighting Sonoran cuisine with a global touch. Its ingredients—like guajillo chiles and seasonal local produce—anchor a menu crafted by renowned Valley Chef Ken Arneson. The restaurant offers expansive views of Camelback Mountain and McCormick Ranch Golf Club.

For a more unexpected experience, guests can track down The Madam, a Prohibition-era-style speakeasy that requires a password to enter. It’s part of the resort’s push to blend history with a little mystery. Next door, The Social Boardroom welcomes guests of all ages to unwind with shuffleboard, golf simulators, and casual bites in a relaxed lounge setting.

There’s also Barnaby’s Café + Wine Bar, a day-to-night space offering coffee and pastries in the morning, paninis at lunch, and Arizona wines in the evening—all served in the Spanish-style courtyard at the heart of the resort.

The wellness experience has also expanded. Luna Spa now includes nine treatment rooms, a Zen meditation garden, and a cold plunge. The neighboring fitness center features Peloton bikes, Therabody tools, and ample space for cardio or strength training.

Originally opened in 1976 as the first dedicated conference resort in the country, The Scottsdale Resort’s legacy in hosting meetings and events continues. With 45,000 square feet of indoor space and 40,000 more outdoors, the venue is equipped for everything from corporate retreats to poolside celebrations.

Just ten minutes from Old Town and surrounded by the scenic beauty of McCormick Ranch, the resort blends the best of Scottsdale’s past and future.
